This 20″ x 24″ oil painting on canvas is a detailed view of Edgar Degas’ The Entrance of the Masked Dancers. This hand-painted reproduction focuses on one of the original painting’s main dancers and also includes the title’s masked dancers in the background. Talented artists have carefully recreated the scene’s spectacular greens and yellows in mimicking Degas’ style. In addition to the dance hall subject matter, which is another key Degas feature, the dancers look away from the viewer, which is also common in Degas’ work. Also notice all of the dancers’ heads move in the same direction as a man in a top hat, the governing agent, enters the scene. Critics have analyzed this work as a painting in two halves.
