Painted in the last month of his life in July of 1890, Vincent Van Gogh’s Haystack under a Rainy Sky has been recreated by hand by our craftsmen. It depicts the typical subject matter he was working with at the time, though he had been tending towards less and less vibrant images of said subjects. Where his images were once filled with seemingly endless fields of rippling golden wheat, now there is but a lone stack under a cloudy sky. A small body of water fills the field in the foreground and the sky appears bleak. Nevertheless, the crows, plants, and water all symbolize the cyclical rejuvenating power of the countryside which he loved so much.
