20″X24″Oil Painting On Canvas Vase With Honesty is one of Dutch master Vincent Van Gogh’s earliest still lifes of flowers, if not his first. While he wrote that he felt called to do portraiture, hiring models was expensive for a non-traditional artist, struggling to sell work. So in 1884 he began a lifelong tradition of painting floral arrangements resulting in some of his best known work. The one pictured here significantly darker and more moody than his later works in Arles.
