Description
Water Lilies was created by impressionist Claude Monet in 1919. The subject was one of Monet’s favorites and he painted the scene many times as part of his larger Water lilies collection. Each piece is similar, but distinct and different. Each piece contains a new and special combination of colors that sets it aside from the rest. In this particular version he explores the contrast of the vibrant pink flowers against the cool blues and greens of the water and lily pads. It shows high energy colors and bold strokes indicative of the impressionist technique.
