Claude Monet’s painting, Spring Flowers was created in 1864. Though not one of his most well-known florals, this piece shows the depth of detail Monet could achieve. The layers of various flowers are painted with such attention to each stroke of the brush, the blooms appear to come to life. There is still the blurred lines of classic impressionist technique but still create a cohesive depictions of the scene that draws the eye in for a closer look. The muted colors only add a sense of calm to the image and allow the focus to include the full canvas.
