Cliffs at Pourville in the Fog

The Cliffs at Pourville in the Fog was painted in 1882 by Claude Monet. Pourville was one of the urban locations that Monet became fascinated with and he depicted it in many of his landscapes. Unlike many of Monet’s landscapes that are decorated with bright flowers, this is a darker, more earthy depictions of the shoreline from beneath the cliffs. The darker tones used for the colors give create a somber but still beautiful setting to hang on the wall.
