Description
In 1891, Claude Monet painted Field with Poplars as part of a series named Poplars. Like many of his famous landscapes, Monet attempted to capture the way light played against the setting and the mood it created. Although the picture does include a man walking through the fields, the trees are the true focus of the pieces. Bright colors are used, from the blue sky littered with clouds , the vibrant flowers in bloom, of the rich green of the poplar trees. It is clear that Monet wanted to catch the joyful energy of a lovely summer day to keep forever.
