Claude Monet spent many days in his gardens perfecting his depictions of flowers and natural features. It’s clear that by the time he painted Flowers at Vetheuil in 1881, he had achieved mastery of his skills in French Impressionism. All the tell-tale signs of the movement are there, including natural color palettes, broad brushstrokes and dreamy landscapes. However, you can still see the unique Monet stamp in this painting through his remarkable use of light in reflections on the water.
