Description
Claude Monet painted Meadow at Giverny in 1886 during his impressionist movement. In this painting Monet is able to convey a fleeting moment in nature when the setting sun through the rain and the trees shaken by stormy winds, breaks free to cast light on the lawn. In the clouds we see touches of pink appearing and the soaked meadows reflect warm patches of sunny light. The rich mixture of colors, including warm yellows, cool greens and vibrant blues gives the scene a jolt of energy. He allows the sunlight to make the setting a warm in inviting one.
