Self Portrait in Hi Atelier (Unfinished Image) was painted in 1884 by impressionist Claude Monet. Monet was known for his landscapes and waterscapes, which rarely contained detailed images of people. That makes this self-portrait both rare and unique. Although it is only partially finished, you can see the skill of the artist in the central scene being depicted with a mountain scene behind him. The natural colors and tones he uses create a warm an inviting image of the artist as seen only through his eyes. He is sharing an intimate part of himself with the audience.
