Description
Springtime Through the Branches was painted by Claude Monet in 1878. It depicts a landscape scene of a village but from the vantage point on the other side of the water. The tree branches in the foreground make the details of the village more difficult to see, but adds to the mystery of the piece. It is hard not to wonder why the painter chose not to offer an unobstructed view. Perhaps it is to show how perspective can be changed by the details included in a simple piece of art. The branches change the way the scene is viewed, but do not make the spring day ay less lovely.
