Description
The Fields of Poppies was painted by Claude Monet in 1875. Monet admired nature’s central role with his impressionist palette. Monet captured this view in four paintings to capture the ever-changing light. The plains of Gennervillers, located southeast of Argenteuil, inspired a lot of the artist’s landscapes during this time. This particular piece comes alive with the warm vivid tones of red and purple, moving away slightly from the blue and green tones he is known for in most of his water-lily paintings.
