Description
Like the other Water Lilies Claude Monet painted in 1914, this Water Lilies version of the classic subject depicts a water and floral landscape. The deep blue on the top and the rich green water on the bottom are separated by a tall line of grass. The yellow in it contrasts with the soft cool tones of the lilies. It gives the setting more depth and a more vibrant color palette. These warm tones are not found in many of the other Water Lilies paintings by Monet, making this a unique piece.
