Wooded Path

The Wooded Path was created by impressionist painter Claude Monet in 1865. While lacking the vibrant colors that Monet landscapes are so well-known for, this particular painting demonstrates how skilled he was with light and shadows. The autumn colors of yellow and orange in the upper part of the trees, contrast with the dark greens and browns that color the path. The artist uses the light to demonstrate the changing of the season and the inviting shade it creates.
