Yellow Irises and Malva

This piece called Yellow Irises and Malva was painted by Claude Monet in 1917. Less popular than the famous water lilies, this piece was created during that same time period. It shows a great deal of the impressionist’s use of the broad strokes and swirling colors. The tall stems of deep green against the blue background give this landscape depth while the yellow adds a pop of color. It is a hidden gem in the Monet collection.
